we have spent 3 years at edisto island, 1 year at buxton, and this year at emerald isle. per our family vote we will be spending more time at emerald isle we had such a wonderful time.

We just got home three days ago, and I'm ready to go back. An Island Oasis is such a clean, well-stocked, and friendly cottage. This was my second visit, and it is hard to think of staying anywhere else. I feel so at home there. The handicap accomodations worked well for my husband(who is in a wheelchair) and the grandkids (age 10 months and 4 years) seemed quite at home. We were so fortunate to be able to share this wonderful cottage with my son and his wife who live in ayden, NC. and my daughter, her boyfriend, and her dog who live in anapolis, Md. Surf casting, playing on the beach, and swimming in the pool were the favorite activities. I wish we were still there!

Great house, just a few problems. Gas fireplace did not work, speaker system in theater room did not work and the wi-fi internet was really terrible. When you are paying big bucks for a house like this, you except everything to be in working order.

This house provided us the opportunity for a great vacation week with my disabled mother, our 2 dogs, and friends. It was a treat to be able to bring the dogs and not have to worry about them while away. Friends came in to visit and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The internet is really fast and fun for us. The location of the house was good at the end of a street but not far from anything. We rode bikes alot and loved the bike path and bike lanes. This house had all the amenities one would need: lots of dishes, cooking utensils, coffee pots, puzzles, games, hot tub, elevator, etc. I do have a few suggestions to make the handicapped bedroom/bath more useful to a handicapped person. At the least, a shower wand would be helpful so that one could sit in the shower and direct water where needed--showering was a little difficult each day. Structural improvements would include making more room around the toilet and having a shelf or small counter available for items around the sink. A side bar in the shower would also be helpful. I think we might have been missing the soap and gourmet coffee which was supposed to be provided with our package. I did not re-read this material until after the trip. We had luxury towels and the linen service but not the soaps and coffee. However, the house is very clean, the furniture is quite comfortable and plentiful. The game room is very cool as is the theater room. This house provides a remarkable collection of quality amenities--the one thing not up to par are the Tv's. The Tv's in the living room and theater room could stand to be updated. Other that this issue, it's nearly a perfect place and I am grateful to the owners for sharing their house to unknown guests like us! Emerald Isle Realty has an incredibly easy and organized rental process. They know what they are doing!

The whole family had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect. All agreed the only change would be to get the pool heated. Size meet our needs and the elevator was a necessity for my wheelchair bound father-in-law. Got a beach wheelchair from the Fire Dept. and took him fishing. He loved it. Would love to do it again but can't afford it every year.

We chose an Island Oasis for our daughter's beach wedding and could not have been happier. The home was immaculate and exceptionally well-equipped down to a coffee bean grinder (it's in the corner cupboard). With the Island linen service, we just walked in and deposited our clothes. The pool was a great touch since the ocean was very rough for a few days during the week. There was ample room for everyone to be comfortable and have their own space when needed. Highly recommended.

The house is very nice. Clean and well stocked. Right on the ocean, which is lovely. Plenty of room to sleep, and plenty of seating for eating as well.
