Bathrooms had been wiped down, not throughly cleaned - big difference. By the time we left, bottom floor toilet bowl had a black ring in it. That doesn't form in one week. Plates and glasses were minimal. Had to run dishwasher almost after every meal. Could have used a second beverage pitcher. would have liked some deck chairs. There were none on second level and none to bring to that level. Pool was small and pool area was not inviting. Sort of a grubby, moldy feel to the whole area. Ant infestation was terrible. Two people are still finding ants in their cars. Beds were too firm. Good selection of books, puzzles and games. No lamp in King bedroom. We later found a lamp in a closet with no shade. Sofa and chair covers were dirty. Porch had missing screen and was dirty in screen areas. I realize that sometimes owners wait until the season is over to repair and refurbish the house but guests who rent at the end of the season have the same expectations and needs as those who rent at the beginning. When one pays these amounts to rent a house, one expects a comfortable bed, sufficient kitchen ware and cleaniness. We enjoyed the great view and the screened in porch.
The house was lovely and had lots of amenities. We especially loved the elevator since the living areas were on the top floor. The elevator made it easy to carry up groceries and my 8 month old great grandson who weighed almost 15 pounds! From the third floor, we could see both the sound and the ocean--beautiful. I really enjoyed the whirl pool tub. The worst problem was that neither ice maker worked, and it took the repair people until Wednesday to fix them both. My family really enjoyed staying at the house.
