I have to admit I'm not a big fan of piles of concrete on the beach, but this building is done very well and given that it is here, it makes a great location for a vacation. I particularly like the ground floor units because you can exit directly to the pool area without having to trail through hallways and elevators soaking wet and sandy. Pool area is first class and high above the beach giving a fabulous view down some very very nice sand. Underground, well ventilated car parking keeps the car cool and mostly clear of salt spray etc...a nice bonus. Great restaurants are a very short distance away as is the NC aquarium. Great day trips to Beaufort, Morehead City, Swansboro, Southport etc... This year we had a great experience with Sandbar Safari eco tours. Very knowledgeable young man who really engaged well with children and had great local insight. Great balance of "finding dolphin" vs "pursuing dolphin"! These aren't cheap units, but we find it worth the price and have returned for several years now. Only experience with one of the units (we go back to the same) and this year several fittings seemed to be getting a little tired or needed attention, loose kitchen faucet, broken patio door locks, missing lights, TV/audio systems with cables disconnected etc... Nothing that really affects your stay to bad and I'm sure that EIR would have fixed them if we'd called, but we didn't want workmen in during our vacation. One thought - if you are looking at the extensive upper floor units, be aware that the balconies are open - great for sun worshippers, but not so good for sitting outside when the rains come...compared to the other units that are under cover.
Not A Happy Camper!
This rental property must be popular as it is showing its wear and tear. The unit needs painting. The curtain was partially down in master bed. The living room sliding door lock was broken and we had to use master bedroom door to enter and exit condo to the patio. The bathroom and ceiling fans were black with dust and there were no sink stoppers in the kitchen. The furniture was below average and uncomfortable and the décor was average. When you pay resort prices you expect resort facilities. Emerald Isle Realty exceeded my expectations as they sent us to dinner as they had the condo recleaned and sent a worker in the next day to fix the curtain. However he could not fix the lock and indicated the part had to be ordered and would not be in until after we had completed our vacation.
