We love Happy Place West. It was our second time to this cottage and we loved it just as much as the first. It is clean, attractive, and has everything you need. We really enjoyed the new sectional and again found the beds very comfy. Thanks again for a great vacation. Coleman

The house was decorated very well. Very cute and beachy theme. However, the carpet was absolutely filthy. I know it's a pet-friendly home, but we have a 16 month old and I was horrified by how black with dirt her feet would be after walking on the carpet. It had not been vacuumed well at all either. There were whole crackers on the floor and in the sofa cushions. The kitchen was very well stocked, which was nice. I wish the pool had been on the back or the other side of the home. On the east side it got very little sun and the water was cold with all the rain that week.The beds and the sofa also need to be replaced. Very uncomfortable. We have rented from emerald isle realty for years, but I would not rent this home again.

When we arrived we could barely contain our excitement,grabbing our bags and make the mad dash up the stairs to get in your swim suit and head to the beach/pool. Each person claiming a room, we hurriedly changed and headed to the beach. The access was just across the street and when you reach the highest point, you have this breathtaking view of the ocean. This year the water was absolutely the most beautiful I have ever seen it. The shades of blue/green..unbelievable. As we are sitting on the beach, we see a pod of dolphins playing in the surf. We look forward to seeing them every morning. The pool was so refreshing after spending the morning sunning, swimming, people watching...I loved the location of the house, short drive to either downtown EI or Morehead City/Beaufort for shopping. It did take us a few days to get used to the reverse layout, but with the living quarters on top, you could see the ocean and the sound. Absolutely beautiful. The house was clean, kitchen well stocked, and after a night of driving all nite, it was a pleasant surprise to not have to make a bed..they had already been made up...we just had to climb in. The only downside to Happy Place was the stairs, but hey, what did we expect. We did have to call the maintenance dept for leaking pool filter, they were there within the half hour. Emerald Isle Realty was great to deal with for reservations, express check-in and check-out. However, the check out part, we were dreading, we didn't want to leave the beautiful island. I will definately be staying at an EIR property again...hopefully sooner than later and yes, quite possibly Happy Place West. Thanks you EIR for making my vacation stress free!!

The house was great, but has way to many steps. We did have a relaxing stay.

I had a great time at happy place. I loved the house. It was very well equiped. The pictures in the book don't do it justice. Perfect size and great location. The pool was also very clean and user friendly.

this cottage is decorated so contemporary and beachy. the view is wonderful of ocean and sound .very easy walk to the beach. the pool and chairs and table very nice. t.v. viewing in each room wonderful. can't say enough good stuff! staying here again next summer.

Happy Place West was a great place, great location. For a dog friendly rental the place was very clean. The pool was great but maybe needs more chairs around the pool. The kitchen was well stock except needs a grater and grilling tools. My family really enjoyed this house so much we have reserved for next year. There are lots of stairs but this is only a problem when unpacking. Overall - I say excellent.
