The house in general was okay and as described. It is a nice location. The issues we had with the house were: Most TVs/Cable did not work well or at all and were generally unwatchable. Not 1 extra blanket or pillow in the house, usually the closets in each room have a few extra. The bedding on the beds was minimal at best and there was no pillow or blanket was provided for the pull-out couch. The kitchen was adequately equipped to a minimal standard. The lower room of the house had a strong mildew aroma.

Certainly, our housekeeping department would have happily supplied you with additional blankets and kitchen items, had you let us know. We were very pleased with Second to None East. We had plenty of room for our family to play, talk and spend time together. It was wonderful to have three generations together for a week. In our hectic world we don't get the opportunity to spend a lot of time together. The bag of linens in the garage when we arrived contained clean and used linens. However, we had plenty of clean wrapped linens in the house so we just added our dirty linens to the bag when we left. Also the grill had disappeared prior to our arrival. We are very appreciative of Emerald Isle Realty and the owner's quick response to get a new gas grill for our use. Our week was fantastic and we would recommend this unit for a family get-together.

Second to None East is a very nice place to stay. Kitchen is well appointed. Loved having the crock pot on hand! Living area furnishings are a bit worn and are due for replacement. Main living area TV is also in need of an upgrade. With those minor complaints, we really enjoyed our time there. Very kid friendly, close and easy access to the beach and we appreciate that we can stay with our family dogs. You can't go wrong staying at Second to None East.

I have stayed in this house before. It has great views of the ocean especially from the bedroom. You can hear the waves hitting the beach with great clarity. My daughter and I had a great weekend, walking and hanging on the beach (very short walk from the house). My only complaint was the T.V.'s were very outdated and there were no instructions on how to use the dvd player. I tried and tried to get a movie to play without success. The t.v. in the living room didn't seem to be properly connected to the cable, it went in and out alot. The house is very comfortable but def. hasn't been upgraded (except for the kitchen counters) in quite some time. It seemed very neglected.

Late Fall Visit

We rented Second to None East for a month. There is a small trail immediately out front leading right to the beach. We enjoyed lots of time at beautiful Emerald Isle beach, and roaming to other favorite spots such as Shackelford Island out of Beaufort and Bear Island out of Swansboro. The unit is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The master king bedroom mattress is very comfortable, the other beds not so much, but we solved the problem in the downstairs bedroom where we stayed by buying a mattress topper. The living room tv where the cable box service is, is old and doesn't have a quality good picture, but the unit does have several Tv's. It was wonderful to have our small dog with us. We appreciate owners who realize dogs are good guests. We would stay here again and thought Second to None East was a good value. Emerald Isle Realty is first class deal with.
