"Nice house close to beach and Emerald Isle hot spots!"
Nice house with easy beach access. Great location -- you can walk/bike to putt-putt and/or grocery stroe. Also, easy bike ride to Sweet Spot and other fun spots. Could use a little furniture updates in spots, but overall, great house for a week at the beach.

"Awesome Week at EI!!!"
This was a last minute decision for booking a cottage at the beach. We were trying to juggle multiple calendars and squeeze a week of vacation in before taking our oldest daughter to college. I found Emerald Isle Realty ( I've never used them before) to be pleasant and helpful. We booked the cottage Friday, 8 days before we were to arrive. Everything went off without a hitch, even with booking this close to our arrival. We started out the week with 13 family members and ended the week with 4. Everyone from 14 - 78 had a wonderful time. The bedrooms were set up well and helped us with sleeping arrangements, that could have been problematic with so many under one roof. My mother-in-law did decide to stay on the top floor all day to avoid using the flights of stairs. I found the stairs to be a little challenging even for me, and I am a lot younger. I opted to use the outside stairs from the decks for the most part. The cottage was clean and matched the on-line pictures. I was a little skeptical of the beach access being 2 cottages away (on another's review of the cottage). On the satellite image it showed accesses 8 cottages to the right and 8 cottages to the left (these were the nicer board accesses). The access 2 cottages away was a sand walk way which was a little hard to maneuver, but it was still much better than walking down to the farther accesses. My brother-in-law has had knew surgery and he seemed to be OK.The ocean views from the decks were wonderful. If you can't have ocean front, this was the next best thing. This area of the beach was wonderful with wide areas and white sand. Everyone enjoyed the beach and the pool all week. It was the best of both worlds. We have been spoiled and probably will never book another cottage without a pool. This is a definite plus for the owner's of the cottage. All the beds/mattresses were good for all. The only issue I had were the sheets. I did try to negotiate to bring my own towels and linens, but the realty stated they were included and we had to pay for it whether we used them or not. Fortunately, I brought a couple of extra sets for the queen sleeper sofas, just in case some other family members were able to make the trip. By day 3, my husband and I switched the provided linens for our own sheets. I will say the sheets weren't bad and no one complained, but for a husband who has very sensitive skin, it was worth us using what we brought. I did like the fact that all the beds were already make upon arrival and all the towels were in each room. I've always brought all of this and I consider this a plus, since it freed us up to get dinner going once we arrived. We did not have to unmake any of the beds upon departure, either. This cottage is close to just about everything. Emerald Plantation is just a couple of streets away and gave us a place to go shop, walk around and browse, and go to the movies; as well as, the grocery store is right next door. There is an "ice distribution shack" very close that you can buy ice in bulk and it's much cheaper than the stores. I am not sure of the name of the place, but very close. My husband found this while searching for ice, since everyone seemed to be out of it on July 4th. We were situated close enough (but far enough away) to the pier to enjoy a most spectacular July 4th fireworks display from the top deck of the cottage. This lasted an unbelievable 30 minutes. It was beautiful and I recommend this to anyone who can travel around this holiday. The kitchen was nicely equipped and they even had a cake pedestal, which came in handy for us. The only thing I did not like about the kitchen was the water pressure. The sink faucet leaked, if you put your hand on it. It was not enough of an issue for me to report it, since it did not leak otherwise. This cottage made our return trip to Emerald Isle very pleasant. It is currently for sale, and the family did discuss buying it. I guess that must tell you something about this cottage. We enjoyed the week at the cottage and all the fun things that are so close by for entertainment, as well as dining. I am not sure I would be able to afford this cottage in the future, but we will keep it on our go to list of places to check for return visits. Thanks to the owners for their attention to details and trying to make sure this cottage was restful and relaxing for all!

"Fun At The Beach"
Perfect for a special "family" vacation at Emerald Isle. Second row but just across the street from the beach. Saves money. Three story nice view of the ocean. Uncrowded beach. Cool off in the great fresh water pool afterwards. All the comforts of home. Great for grilling outdoors by the pool except that the grill needs replacing. Bed mattresses are quite firm (some like others don't). Otherwise the perfect getaway.
