"A Good Place to Spend a Week at EI"

4 of 5

A Dolphin Watch is a good rental. Have been going to EI for a number of years now and have rented a number of different places over the years. This particular property is very typical of RI rental properties. Good location, close to the pier, well maintained, and nicely furnished. We had a few minor maintenance problems, but EI Realty responded immediately.Paid to have the pool heated, but, due to an equipment and parts problem, the pool was not heated. However, RI Realty reimbursed the special (and pricey) fee immediately.

"Annual Family Vacation"

4 of 5

We enjoyed our annual family vacation at Emerald Isle. It is the Gem of the Outer Banks. This was our fourth family vacation there. The weather was perfect. We love that there is a lot to do without being over commercialized.

"What A House!"

5 of 5

Oceanfront! Pet Friendly! Pool! Beautifully Decorated! A Dolphin Watch was the perfect house for our family. We have already reserved it for next summer! The house had everything needed and more. We ate every meal outside on the covered deck while watching the waves roll in. We even got to watch dolphins swimming from the deck. There's just something about the ocean air that is so relaxing. Our dogs loved lounging on the upper deck while watching our family on the beach. The beach was not crowded and our college age children enjoyed their space to paddleboard during the day and play kanjam and listen to music at night with the dogs and adults relaxing nearby. We rented bikes for an easy ride to shopping and touring the isle. We had a few minor house problems that were the result of a long summer of rentals. A quick call to Emerald Isle Realty and they were solved. The beds were wonderful along with the gas grill and lighted pool for night time swims and of course the hot tub and pool table. We loved watching the Redskins preseason game in the theater room. We had 2 adults, 5 young adults and 2 dogs and we had all the space in the world. My only suggestion is to get a second refrigerator. This is a great house - do not hesitate a bit when reserving!

"Beautiful home, amazing week!"

5 of 5

I did not have any of the issues the previous reviewer did. TVs seemed to work (although I think we only turned one in the kids bedroom on the entire week -- spent entire time watching the beautiful view, NOT TV!!), pool was beautiful and clean. The home is gorgeous. We've been renting homes/townhomes along the Carolina coast for over 10 years and this is was the most beautiful home to date. Great layout/floorplan, kitchen was spacious enough (lots of cupboard space, but a single fridge is always a bit challenging. They did have a small mini fridge in the game room which we used for adult beverages and left the upstairs fridge for food). We had 4 families (grandparents, their three adult children and grandkids) and the place was perfect -- space for everyone! Loved the outdoor spaces - lots of rocking chairs and tables/seating on the covered patio off the kitchen/living room floor. Great location - close to the grocery store. Plenty of seating at the pool. Provided 2 high chairs, but no baby gates (had to rent). Wi-Fi was difficult to use -- signal was poor so had to use our iphones as a hotspot most of the week. Also, as with ALL rentals (at least per our experiences) the knives were VERY dull -- but again, that seems to be typical of rentals. LOADS of dishes/glassware!! We WILL be coming back -- already booked for next year!

"Comfortable stay, needs upgrades"

3 of 5

This is a fine house for a few families looking to share a home for their beach vacation. It is close to the pier; so, be prepared for crowding on the beach on the weekends as the public access is within walking distance of the house. We were there over Memorial Day weekend and got squeezed out of what started a a quiet spot in front of the home by 10 a.m. Also, the kitchen is small for more than 6 people to stay. They need a second full size refrigerator, unless you want to make 2 grocery trips to last you for the week. And, the kitchen supply is minimal with regard to pots, pans, etc. for those who enjoy cooking at home. Lastly, the sleeper sofa was broken and not able to be used. Otherwise, it was satisfactory for our stay. We enjoyed the heated pool and the covered deck quite a bit.

Manager Response:

Thank you for your review of your stay at A Dolphin Watch. It pleases me to know that you enjoyed your stay and the heated pool and covered deck were both a nice retreat. It is true that the beach strand by the pier can get a bit crowded, but this location affords families convenience to shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and everything else that Emerald Isle has to offer. I hope you will visit us again soon!
