We had a great time and really enjoued the home but there was a frw points that were not ao good. The key was very difficult to use for the door. For both the top and bottom locks. There is no Laundry matt on the island so not having a washer or dryer is very inconvenient. And also the driveway. It is very dangerous backing out of the driveway. If there was a wrap around driveway or excess to the road next door that would be much safer. Other then that we had a fantatsic time and the cottage was very nice.

excellent small rental. enjoyed stay except for one situation. came in late one evening and found that our sheets had been taken off our bed and other sheets had been placed on bed by a linen service. there was also a bag of extra sheets and towels with a mr harris name. we thought cottage had been overbooked and we could expect unknown guests at any time. we called emergency number for emerald isle realty---this is firm we used to rent cottage---and got an answering machine. message stated would return call at next business day. we called maintenance and they promptly returned call. of course they could not help. we barricaded doors and found out the next day they the realty firm owned the linen service.we were advised that is impossible to double book but people do make mistakes. we were offered our sheets back as a form of remorse but to take back sheets that may have not been ours and had been mixed in with other unknown sheets. please note that deck shown on home can not be used. overall cottage very nice. rental company failed with us. alan h.
Thank you for sharing your vacation experience with us. I apologize for the discomfort you felt when you arrived to find that your linens were replaced with those from our linen company. As you were told, our software prevents a double-booking, but I certainly understand your concern and I again apologize. As for the deck, the owners of this property are working to replace the upper deck, but until the project is complete the deck will be unavailable. Fortunately, Sugar Shack is just a hop, skip, and a jump from the beach access.

Sugar shack was nice for our getaway. Our son was recuperating from recent surgery and we enjoyed the walks to the sound and the short walk down to the beach. The house had all you needed for cooking and I enjoyed the vintage cookware reminiscent of my mom's kitchen. Beds were comfortable and we finally figured out the tv.There was no closet in the master bedroom so plan accordingly. There were plenty of drawers and an over the door hook for hanging a few items.Dollar General is less than 2miles down the road for quick purchases.I highly recommend Clamdiggers restaurant for great food reasonably priced.Staff at the realty office are very friendly and helpful.

This vacation home is a solid value. It is not an upscale vacation home but it is clean, comfortable, with all necessary needs available. Full kitchen, plates, dishes, utensils, cups, blankets, cable TV, wifi. If you wanted to push it you could sleep 7 people. You can comfortably sleep 4. Car cover port is nice. Nice upper deck. Four minute walk to the beach. Good deal.

"A great value."
This cute house reminded me of my grandparent's beach house from my childhood. It was an easy walk to a nice a section of the beach. The bathroom was clean and looked like it had been recently remodeled. The bedspreads were very clean (and attractive) and the beds were VERY comfortable - we all slept very well. There was plenty of room for 4 of us - I was with my husband and our two children. It was too hot in July for me to enjoy the sunroof but my husband drank his coffee up there in the mornings. I would have enjoyed some front porch furniture but the porch is probably too narrow.I was a bit worried that this would not be a good fit for us - the pictures of the dark paneling freaked me out - and I was worried that we would regret making a budget conscious vacation choice - but I was very pleasantly suprised.

The house was small but comfortable. We had a dog and there were no carpets anywhere. He didn't have the best vacation. It was a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed the outdoor shower. It saved a lot of sand from going inside.
